How it works

How Does Field Guard Work – and Why Is It So Effective?

Field Guard operates by triggering animals' instinctive responses to perceived danger. The device emits a combination of scent, sound and light stimuli that create a so-called landscape of danger – a sensory environment animals interpret as a threat. As a result, they avoid the protected area.

The scent released by the device is carried by the wind over a large area. While barely noticeable to humans, it is highly detectable to animals. Upon sensing an unfamiliar odour, an animal becomes alert, pausing to listen and observe its surroundings. At that moment, additional deterrents are activated – realistic predator calls, distress sounds and intense strobe lighting.

This combination triggers a natural flight response. A specially designed operating algorithm introduces an element of randomness and allows remote updates to the sound library, helping prevent animals from becoming habituated to the emitted signals.

The built-in photovoltaic panel works with a high-capacity battery to provide reliable long-term operation, including during periods of limited sunlight. The device can work throughout the growing season without the need for constant user intervention.

An integrated GSM module and dedicated Android app give users access to device parameters from anywhere. Users can configure operating schedules, adjust deterrent settings and access camera functions, allowing each device to be adapted to current field conditions.

Security

Theft Protection

The anti-theft system, based on GPS tracking and GSM connectivity, can alert the user when the device is moved and show its current location. Depending on the selected protection level, the unit can trigger an alarm or be remotely locked.

A camera with a motion sensor can activate when a person is detected near the device and record images. Depending on the camera model and its app, notifications and recordings can also be sent to an email address. A voice message stating that the device is monitored provides an additional deterrent.

The built-in camera enables crop monitoring. Depending on the installed camera model, its app can provide live view, camera rotation, ambient audio, recording and motion notifications. Users can also manually save images to document crop condition and growth.
